Крым стал привлекать кладоискателей. Как стало известно, в настоящее время любители приключений разыскивают на полуострове 14 тайников. Причем их координаты есть в Интернете. Сайт, который предоставляет подобную информацию, посвящен игре геокэшинг. Создатели ресурса утверждают, что эта забава одновременно и очень древняя, и совсем новая. Зародилась она во времена пиратов. История геокэшинга как современной игры началась в Соединенных Штатах Америки в 2000 г. с появлением спутниковой навигации GPS. Суть забавы заключается в обыкновенных прятках. Один человек создает тайник, публикует его координаты в сети, а другие ищут с помощью приборов спутникового ориентирования. В Крым геокэшинг пришел из Российской Федерации. Россияне предпочитают создавать тайники вблизи исторических или природных достопримечательностей. В начале мая новые клады были заложены в районе курортного поселка Форос, в предгорьях Караби-Яйлы, возле родника в селе Миндальное, на горе Перчем и мысе Чикен. Каждый тайник имеет описание в Интернете и список содержимого. В основном в них спрятаны сувениры и полезные в быту туриста вещицы. Есть тайники и в других регионах Украины. В Донецкой и Днепропетровской областях всего заложено пять кладов. Тайники спрятаны по всему миру. Их десятки тысяч. Они появляются на островах, морских побережьях, в горах и за полярным кругом.
